I'm going to skip the part of my post that apologizes for not having shit done. Just pretend like I did it already. Anyways, I'm working on the Vermillion: complete series DVD and its looking fucking sweet. I've nearly finished making the second disk (season 2). Yeah, you read that right. Two fucking discs. It's gonna be amazing. They'll probably be free too because I feel guilty about making people pay for my genius. If we do sell 'em they'll only be like $5 so ya know, very affordable. So, uh there. I'll make a super descriptive post about the DVD when they are actually completed.

I talk alot of shit. I know. Scroll down through the past months and you'll find me and Nate talking loads of bollocks. Two movies, a new show, a differant take on our current show, even a mockumentary. These things all have never and will never happen.
However, a new show is coming. like actually happening. It's called "The Winchester", after the name of our house hear in vermillion (and the pub from Shaun of the Dead). Like I mentioned earlier it's a sketch show with a musical act at the end. We begin shooting this monster next week. Man oh man i'm pumped.
Vermillion: the complete series DVD is still in the works. Just don't ask me about it.

Alright, updates and shit.
The vermillion: complete series DVD had been postponed due to nate computer completely crashing and dying. It's up and running now, so we'll be working on that hopefully within the next few weeks.
I'm moving back to vermillion within the next couple of weeks as well (into a beautiful new house with Nate, Adam (ya know, Mike), and our new Flandreau buddy, Alex.
So with a new house filled with sexy men comes only one thing: a new show. Yup, I've been kicking this bitch of an idea around in my head for a while now and it should be a shit ton of fun. Itll be a collection of shorts hosted by us 4 dudes with a musical act at the end. Think Chappelle's Show except not as funny and with fewer black people. It doesn't have a name yet but itll be gooooood. More on this as it develops.
Nate and some of the boys have been working on a music video for We All Have Hooks For Hands's new album, "the shape of energy" and it looks fucking cool.
I've been in contact with Charles Lubbers, the head of broadcasting for USD's channel KYOT. I've proposed a programing block of shows made up of shorts (cough vermillion cough) and movies made by USD students the ball is moving slowly though. More on THIS as it develops.
SO there you go, a whole bunch of stuff coming your way. Hooray.

God, I'm having trouble creating a cover to our upcoming DVD. I've tried a few designs and they all look like my balls. I also wanted to spruce up this site and try and make it a little friendlier on the eyes. I'm not sure I can/know how. To make things worse I'm contantly distracted by other shit. I keep getting pulled back and forth creatively between the DVD, writing new things, trying to write music, and misc. art shit. I've got all these ideas but none of them are done. Man, this is sounding bitchy. Im done.

I say 'all' because I think our readers went from 2 to 10 due to Nate, Chris, and I's appearence in this month's 605 Magazine.

We got interviewed, had a photoshoot, and had another photoshoot. All this following an article about us in our school's newspaper, The Volante. It's been a fucking media blitz or a media storm. No, fuck it, it's been a media hurricane. You might be asking "Zach, whats it like being so fucking famous you can't leave your own house for fear you may be smothered to death by hundreds of barely legal (topless?) women?" Well, to answer your question, it's amazing. So, if you want to join in on the 'Vermillion' bandwagon go pick yourself up a copy of 605 Magazine at literally billions of locations across Sioux Falls. (also check it, Chris's name is TOTALLY all over that girls crotch. That's the closest Chris has been to a vagina since he was born! SCORE! BURN!)

It's March...Dear God...

So it has come to my attention that we haven't produced an episode of "Vermillion" in roughly 4 months...our bad. Although, in our defence, we have what I consider a valid excuse. We wrote and were preparede to shoot our 3rd episode the day before Christmas break. However, due to scheduling conflicts (Nate) we could not. So sadly we did not have a chance to shoot before the long break. When we got back we started shooting the newly written episode. We shot it all in one day. We were so proud of ourselves. Then Nates computer decided it would like to take a large shit on our chest's. So it did. Weeks went by. Suddenly, we found ourselves in fucking February. Shit. Nate struggled (valiantly, I'm sure) to get the episode up for our loyal fans (I'm sure we have a few). Once again his computer was in a clevland steamer kind of mood, and it fucked up the episode once more. Then it dawned upon us that the files were we kept the opening and closing we corrupted and therefore, unusable. After that fiasco Nate and I did some serious problem solving, Shot a brand new opening and I belive that we are now in the clear. So I have left Vermillion for spring break and left Nate with the task of finalizing the next episode (203-Christmas) slapping it up on YouTube. But not only do we have "Christmas" on the way, we have shot a brand new episode "Twister" and it will (God help us) be up sometime over spring break. I know what you're thinking "2 brand new episodes over the course of 5 months? How could anyone manage such a feet?" Well, I've got an answer for you. We are awesome.

I thought I'd elaborate on it for you (you being the 5 people that read this blog): We're doing a cop drama set in the 1970's. Well not a drama. It'll be funny. Hopefully. There will be ACTION, ROMANCE, FUNK MUSIC, DRAMA, and probably a poorly written and cheap FART JOKE! I'll play a cop, Nate will be a cop, and the aformentioned damn Hooks kids will probably make an appearance. We're hoping to make a Pilot/Promo ready by the end of this year and we'll premier the thing at our 2nd annual Vermillion showing here at USD. Thats all you get for now bitches.

The title for the post was my weak attempt at making a pun right now. Anyway, Zach and I just finished writing the new episode of Vermillion- should be pretty goddamn funny. The season is getting a little more ridiculous, and rightfully so. If we just kept following me, Zach, and Chris around as we bitched at each other like last season things would be pretty boring. Hopefully we'll shoot it and have it up within a week or two.

In bigger news, Zach and I are going to take on the task of writing a film. We developed the story with Eli Show, and it will be starring him and Dave Lethcoe. If you don't know, those are two of the guys that have made guest appearances in Vermillion- and are now becoming regular characters. Eli is also taking the job of what I'll call Art Director. I'm pretty damn excited about the movie- so sorry if this becomes a rather long post. It's a fantasy movie (or rather, magical realism) and it will be vastly different from Vermillion. Think Science of Sleep or any assortment of Terry Gilliam movies. It will still be a comedy, but far stranger and much more visual. I won't give away the exact plot, but it has to do with Dave building machines that let him see into other dimensions. You can expect giant puppet monsters, and other-worldly sets. We've started conceptual artwork (the three of us being art students) and soon will begin construction on creatures and sets. Hopefully at some point I'll have some pictures up to keep you in the loop.

So once upon a time Nate, Chris and I fancied ourselves hard workers. We claimed to stay busy all summer long; writing, writing, filming, and writing. Then once summer started days became weeks; weeks became months; boys became men and men became women. It then dawned upon us that we were perhaps the laziest fuckers on the planet. We had jobs, girlfriends, boyfriends, computers, and one time me and Nate went to Wild Water West. Essentially what I'm saying is that we didn't do jack nor shit this summer. We wrote approximatley 2 1/2 pages of our movie script. That's it. But have no fear, the summer's ass is grass and we are back in Vermillion. That means more work then we had during the summer and at the same time that wont stop us. Give us a week and im sure we'll have written at least one episode of Vermillion. It will then be promptly delivered to you in YouTube form. Prepare your ass cuz we gon to be all up in it!

We do indeed have a blog. Hopefully I can pull my head out of my ass soon and get that episode up for all y'all to see, though there's some technical things standing in my way.

Anyway, Zach mentioned a mockumentary, which will be our next project. Not to worry, there shall be another season of Vermillion, though this mockumentary is promising. We shouldn't release too many details, but I can tell you that Chris plays two twin brothers, I play a sleazy lawyer, and Zach plays an egotistical asshole filmmaker. So it should be a good time. I'll also let you know it's called "Catching Trout." We need people to fill a few roles, so if you're interested, let us know.

Grand Fun Alley

Just a quick update- the final episode of season one (episode 9) is shot, edited, and in the can. The episode will not be premiered on YouTube, though. The final episode will be premiered here in Vermillion at a local film festival being held by Eli Show. Vermillion will be played on April 21st, at 8:00 PM. So be there. And as previously reported, the first 100 people there will receive a free copy of Vermillion Season 1 on DVD, complete with special features. That's it for now.

Bacon-Wrapped Scallops

Bacon-Wrapped Scallops
Ingredients
1 cup
Flour
1 tablespoon
Salt
1 tablespoon
Paprika
1 teaspoon
Freshly ground white pepper
1 teaspoon
Garlic powder

Sea scallops
1
Egg beaten with 1 cup milk
1 cup
Bread crumbs
7
Bacon strips cut in thirds
Tarter or cocktail sauce

Preparation
Preheat oven to 400. Lightly grease pie plate. Combine flour, salt, paprika, pepper & garlic powder in shallow dish. Roll scallops in seasoned flour, shaking off excess. Dip into egg mixture, then coat with bread crumbs, covering completely.
Wrap each scallop in bacon and secure with toothpick. Transfer to prepared dish. Bake until bacon is crisp and scallops are cooked through, about 20-25 minutes. Serve hot with sauce.

Sprizzing Brizzeak

Hello Lovers,

Just posting during our week of springy breakness. There will be no new episode this week- as we need the time to rest our weary souls and replenish nutrients, as well as to play Nintendo and school noobs in Mario Kart.

While on break we've been to Minneapolis to Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, who were absolutely amazing. If you don't know Stephen Malkmus, he is one of (if not the) biggest musical genius of our generation. He formed the band Pavement, who pretty much created and fronted the indie rock movement which now today is so "hip."

We have decided there will be a total of 10 episodes for season one of Vermillion, and episode 10 will be an entire 10 minutes long, while 10 mules spew 10 dwarfs out of their mouths, singing 10 Christmas carols in unison. Also, at the beginning of May, we will be in cahoots with the art department at USD to have a screening of all 10 episodes of season one, along with some free DVDs with special features for which to give to the public.

As for the future of the show, our current plan is to take a break after completing season one, and return for a second season when the next semester of school starts next September. And once second season is completed, it shall be the end of Vermillion, for we have bigger and better projects to move on to.

Lastly, make sure to check out our friends. Newsbleep is hilarious. Let it be known that Miles Rausch is one of the wittiest people I know. And of course, all of those other ones that currently I'm too lazy to write about. (Though I shall in time!)

In conclusion, drunken 50 year old bitches hitting on Zach at the show was hilarious. He got felt up. Big time. By an insane old woman.
